Metallica!

Sat Jan 31, 2009, 6:31 PM
:new: My cries of dismay were answered. R managed to snag some amazing 6th row Metallica tickets. The show was just mind blowing! :iconiloveitplz: They played lots of new songs from Death Magnetic, some unexpected rare gems and, of course, faves nearest and dearest to our hearts. I wish they played Hero of the Day or Outlaw Torn but c'est la vie.
:horns:James Hetfield is a GOD! He's the total package...great frontman and holds his own with the guitar. He was charming and really got the crowd going.
:horns:Kirk Hammett shreds with the best of them. His fingers seriously were just flying so fast. :popcorn:
:horns:Lars is a much hated man. But that little man is awesome and makes me LOL. He was hilarious! If a little overdressed?! He usually just wears a pair of shorts and he was wearing jeans AND a t shirt. What?
:horns:Robert Trujillo is intense, plain and simple.

Some drawbacks - parking was $20; douchebag next to me shoved me aside to get to a pick that was tossed our way - godforsaken twat- where was my flying elbow?; I didn't bring my camera and I could have! the security sucked...WTF?; crazy traffic

All in all, Metallica rocked my world! Age does not wither this band in the least. They just get better and better and kick the asses of bands decades younger than they. This leg of the US tour ends tomorrow and a European one starts at the end of February. :iconnapoleonplz:Lucky! I am fervently hoping that they come through and add more dates for Fall 2009. I will be there!

:love:Shout out to lovely R. :kiss::hug::love:

:heart::heart:Honestly, why do bad things happen? We had to put my sister's dog, Jedi, to sleep last Monday night. He was gravely ill.:heart::heart:
:heart::heart:Jedster, you are sorely missed and forever loved!:heart::heart:
